Gulf Air plane lands safely after bomb scare at Kuwait airport

DUBAI: A Gulf Air flight travelling to Kuwait International Airport landed safely on Sunday, following a bomb threat received mid-air.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed that flight GF213, en route from Doha, was the subject of a security alert prompting immediate emergency protocols. Authorities acted swiftly, coordinating with the Ministry of Interior to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew.
The aircraft touched down without incident, and the bomb alert was later determined to be false. All passengers were safely evacuated and moved to an isolated lounge. No injuries were reported, and there was no disruption to scheduled flights at the airport.
What triggered the alarm?
According to DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al Rajhi, the bomb threat was received during the flight, prompting full security measures. "The report was handed immediately in accordance with security procedures and protocols," he said. Al Rajhi noted that coordination with relevant agencies ensured a safe landing and the activation of the airport’s emergency procedures.

Authorities confirmed that the person responsible for the bomb report was identified and taken into custody shortly after the plane landed.
